Peanut Butter Protein Rice Krispies Treats

You're eating right, working out & feeling good. Life is great, right? Except it's missing one thing. A guilt-free snack which brings you back to the days of being a lil' Buff Dude or Grrrl. Our Peanut Butter Protein Rice Krispies Treats Recipe will give you a hefty dose of snack nostalgia and transport you back to a simple time. A time when your parents made all your food for you and nothing was better then some Krispies Treats and a good movie. The Last Starfighter, preferably.

Alright, alright, enough with discusses one of the greatest movies of all time. On with the recipe!

  • 3c / 96g Rice Krispy Cereal
  • 1/2c / 142g Agave or Honey
  • 1/2c / 140g Peanut Butter (we used Super Chunk)
  • 2 Scoops Vanilla Whey Protein

  • Optional:
  • Hershey's Special Dark Mildly Sweet Chocolate

You will need three mixing bowls.

Large, medium and small. The medium and small need to be microwave safe.

First, pour your cereal into the large bowl and set aside.

Also, if you choose to top these with chocolate,  break them into their separate blocks and put them into the small bowl. (We used 6 blocks to cover half of this recipe.)

Now put your Peanut Butter and Agave into your medium bowl.

Microwave it for 30 seconds, stir it and microwave it another 30 seconds. Stir it again until it's nice and smooth.

Add your 2 Scoops of Protein and stir until it's all combined.

Time to pour it over your cereal. Make sure to scrape it all in.

Carefully stir it all around until all the cereal is coated.

Spray or oil your pan. ( we used a 10 x 8 pan ) and press your cereal mixture into the pan. Nice and flat.

Microwave your chocolate for 15 seconds at a time. Stirring until it's all melted. Pour and spread this on top if you choose.

Now, pop it into the fridge for up to 30 minutes to help it set up.

We cut three rows length and width to get 16 bars.

Enjoy!
